Windows Movie Maker
by Microsoft
Classic Windows slideshow and video editor for casual creators
Overview
Windows Movie Maker is a video editing software for home users and educators creating slideshow movies from photos, video clips, and audio on Windows PCs. Originally bundled by Microsoft starting with Windows Me in 2000, it offered timeline-based cut, split, join, rotate, and flip operations plus titles, transitions, and voice-over narration. Microsoft discontinued the official download in 2017 and replaced it with the Photos app Video Editor, and later Clipchamp on Windows 11, though community ports and Microsoft Store reissues remain in circulation.
